Disaster Recovery & DC Security Drucken

  • 20

The remedies set forth in this SLA are your sole and exclusive remedies for any failure of the service.

Statement of Intent

The purpose of this disaster recovery plan (DR) is to ensure that the proper elements and commitment are in place to provide optimal data processing services for the business function. The customer uses this DR to facilitate their planning process. This agreement is not meant to override current procedures, but to complement them. Service levels specified within this definition/agreement are communicated on a monthly basis to the customer.

The below situations are worst case scenario and while we have these provisions in place, there is always multiple levels of redundancy to avoid getting this far.

Virtual Server Node

Linux Virtual Servers are CDP backed up on a weekly basis; if a hardware node fails, the most recent backup will be restored to another node. If the client has additional backup’s in places such as NFS or R1Soft CDP, these will be restored also.

Windows Virtual Servers are CDP backed up on a weekly basis; if a hardware node fails, the most recent backup will be restored to another node. If the client has additional backup’s in places such as NFS or R1Soft CDP, these will be restored also.

An optional addition to reduce the DR impact on business continuity is to opt for our “Replica” service (windows only); this creates a continuous replication service to a different Host or Datacentre. In the case of disaster at the primary Host or Datacentre, the secondary Host or Datacentre can be brought online without the delay of restoring the backup file. NB. This is NOT a backup replacement or alternative; it is a solution to improve business continuity in business critical cases.

Client Dedicated Server

MTH always retain components on-site for all client’s servers; if it’s a whole server failure, we will replace the server with a new machine and move across the hard drives. Spare MicroCloud dedicated servers are always kept on-site; larger servers may or may-not be available instantly, however we have agreements with our suppliers to retain specific servers available at a moment’s notice for same-day delivery.

Datacentre

Part of the MTH backup plan is to replicate our Coventry backup server, on a daily CDP basis, to our Maidenhead facility. Client’s whose servers are backed up using our R1Soft Idera backup solution will have their backup’s included in this off-site replication.

MTH currently utilise only UK datacentres; there are plans to expand this to the UAE as well as potentially the USA, however the location of your data will always be known to you. Servers are always backed up within the country they reside; the same applies with any MTH backup replication unless otherwise requested.

Datacentre security

All the datacentres MTH utilise have high level, very strict security measures. For full details, please visit our website page which retains full details of each Datacentre's security features.

In addition to the above details, only set people have access to the datacentre floor; further, all racks are locked and keys only held by the persons with datacentre access and the datacentre themselves.
