How do I register/transfer or renew a domain?

To register/transfer or renew a domain you will need to login to the client area with your username and password.

Once you have signed in to the client area click 'Domains' from the navigation bar at the top of the website, select from the options listed below and complete steps 1-5.

Register a New Domain - Enter the domain of your choice without 'www' or 'com'; e.g. 'example' and then chose the top level domain you require from the drop down list and click 'Check Availability'. If the domain name is unavailable then this means it has already been registered but you can choose an alternative domain from the list or go back and enter a different domain name. Once you have found the domain you require, select the checkbox and then select how many years you would like to register that domain for from the drop down list and click 'Add to Cart'.

Transfer Domains to Us - This process is similar to the registering a new domain but you will need to ensure that you have ownership of the domain you wish to transfer to Monkey Tree Hosting. For UK domain names (.co.uk, .org.uk, .net.uk, etc.) will need to ensure that the IPS (Name Tag) at your current registrar is updated to our name tag 'MONKEYTREE' (uppercase). For more information on what an IPS tag is, click here.

Please note if you are transferring a top level domain such as com, biz, org or info domain you will need to obtain the authorisation code (EPP) from your current registrar to enable us to complete the transfer of your domain. Top level domains can take up to 7 days to transfer. For more information on what an EPP code is, click here.

Renew Domains - You can see how many days are left until expiry. Select your domain from the drop down list and click 'Order Now'.

All domains are renewed on an annual basis, up to a maximum of every 10-years we will send renewal reminders 60, 30, 15, 7 and 1 days prior to your domain name expiring. We will send the reminder to the email address on the account, and it is the registrants responsibility to make sure their contact details are up to date. If you do not wish to renew a domain please make sure you contact us a minimum of 90 days before your domain expires by emailing [email protected].

If you request that you no longer wish to have your domain name renewed by us, it will be left to expire and all services we provide regarding that domain name will be suspended. Your domain name will then go into a 30 day protected period, after 30 days your domain will be suspended by Nominet and it will go into a 60 day grace period. If you change your mind and still wanted to retain your domain name, you still can and at the original renewal price. This must be requested by email before the 80th day after your domain has expired. Approximately 93 days after expiry your domain will be cancelled and deleted from the register, and made available for resale through a third party registrar by Nominet. Monkey Tree Hosting Ltd will not guarantee the renewal of a domain name after this happens.

You can configure the domain names in your shopping cart by selecting the add-on services you would like, providing required information for them and defining the nameservers that they will use. Once this has been completed proceed to order confirmation and remember to check that you are happy with the details prior to completing payment.
